Ok, had my coffee and its UPnP
not UMDP damn psp UMD's got me confused.Reason I am asking RE UPnP is that my PS3 gave me DNS errors constantly when I had media player trying to stream 2 it. What Firmware you running on PS3? Settings > System Settings > System Information ---> What version System software you running? Also go Settings > Network Settings > disable media sharing Was it enabled if yes, then test connection again. Will see what I can find out this end as well :P |

Set your IP address manually on your PS3 using the same IP addresses your DHCP server gave out, but substitute the DNS servers for the two OPENDNS servers. (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220).
It sounds like your machine sharing the connection is not properly proxying the DNS queries from the PS3. |

Thanks MaXim but are u talking about a router? If u are then i cant do that. Ive just got it running straight into my PS3. When i run the cmd the DHCP enabled says no. how do I enable it. Just a check my internet sharing all 3 boxes are ticked? I seriously need someone to chat live with with a step by step guide. Im using neotel, cant someone just give me a guide on how they did it so i can follow? This is really frustrating.

No... I'm not referring to a router. I'm telling you to set the IP addresses up manually on your PS3 and not leave it on DHCP. That way you can modify your DNS server settings. If you are using PPPOE on the PS3, then obviously you should leave everything as is and speak to your ISP if you still can't come right.
Don't mess with DHCP or any other settings on your PC. Make sure your PC has also assumed the static IP of 192.168.0.1 when you enabled Internet Connection Sharing. |
